The +GF+ Mikron HEM 500U is a high-precision 5-axis vertical machining center engineered for complex, multi-sided part machining. It features a rigid T-slot table measuring 19.68" x 19.68" capable of supporting workpieces up to 440 lbs, suitable for aerospace, automotive, and medical industries. The machine incorporates a vertical spindle with a CAT 40 taper, with an optional upgrade to HSK-A63, running at speeds up to 12,000 RPM, and optionally 20,000 RPM, delivering spindle power of 26 HP standard and up to 48 HP optional for high-efficiency cutting. The spindle changeover time is optimized at 2 seconds with an automatic tool changer holding 30 tools, expandable to 60 tools, enabling reduced downtime and enhanced productivity. The machine provides a total of 5 axes of movement, with linear travels of 19.7" (X), 17.7" (Y), and 15.7" (Z), and a B-axis rotary tilt of 175 degrees for complex geometry machining. It has rapid traverse rates up to 1,181 inches per minute across all linear axes, supporting dynamic, precise machining operations. The HEM 500U's construction and control systems facilitate both 3+2 axis and simultaneous 5-axis machining, providing flexibility and high accuracy with integrated tool setters and probing systems. Advanced features include through-spindle coolant, oil mist spray, mist extraction, chip conveyor, and an optional high-power spindle motor, ensuring superior machining quality and process stability in demanding manufacturing environments.
