A+Technical Description
The GROB G350 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance 5-axis universal machining center designed for versatile milling of complex parts across various materials. It features a horizontal spindle with an HSK63 taper capable of speeds up to 16,000 RPM powered by a 33.52 HP motor, enabling efficient chip evacuation and long Z-axis travel of 29.5 inches. Its work envelope includes X, Y, and Z travels of 23.6, 33.7, and 29.5 inches respectively, complemented by a 360-degree pallet indexing system with 15 pallets (15.75-inch diameter each) for high throughput and flexible part loading. The machine’s rotary axes provide a large swivel range—230° on the A-axis and full 360° on the B-axis—allowing 5-sided and simultaneous 5-axis interpolated machining, including upside-down operations without collision thanks to the machine’s tunnel concept design. The tool magazine accommodates up to 117 tools, with a rapid 4-second chip-to-chip time for minimal downtime. The G350 supports high-rigidity cutting with a compact welded machine bed, optimized guide proximity to the tool center point (TCP), and pressurized coolant supply at 1,160 PSI to enhance tool life and surface finish. Ergonomic access to electrical and fluid cabinets ensures simple maintenance and high availability. This combination of large swivel range, long travel, high spindle power, and extensive automation positions the GROB G350 as a flexible solution for demanding mechanical engineering and manufacturing applications requiring precision and productivity.
