The Haas Automation DM-2 Vertical Machining Center is a compact, high-speed CNC machine designed for precision milling and complex manufacturing tasks. Featuring a robust 34" x 15" table, it supports workpieces up to 250 lbs and offers optional rotary table integration for expanded machining capabilities. The vertical spindle utilizes a CT40 or BT40 taper, with a maximum speed of 15,000 RPM (standard 10,000 RPM option available) and a 15 HP motor for reliable performance in demanding applications. Tooling is managed by an 18-station SMTC automatic tool changer, with an optional 19-tool configuration and a rapid 1.6-second chip-to-chip tool change time. The machine provides three axes of travel: 28" on the X-axis, 16" on the Y-axis, and 15.5" on the Z-axis, each supporting a maximum feed rate of 1,200 IPM and rapid traverse speeds of 2,400 IPM for efficient cycle times. The DM-2 is equipped with a direct-drive spindle for minimal noise and precise speed control, programmable coolant nozzle, and optional through-spindle coolant for enhanced tool life and machining accuracy. Its compact footprint and high-speed machining features make it suitable for a wide range of production environments, from prototyping to high-volume manufacturing.
