The Handtmann PBZ SC is a high-performance horizontal machining center engineered for the precise, five-axis machining of long and heavy profiles in aluminum, steel, and composite materials. Designed for profiles up to 24,000 mm in length, the PBZ SC delivers robust productivity and accuracy on a compact footprint. The machine features a horizontal spindle with an HSK 63 A taper (optional HSK 50E), capable of reaching up to 28,000 RPM and delivering 50 HP (30-minute rating) for high material removal rates and outstanding surface finishes. The integrated automatic tool changer (ATC) supports up to 32 standard tool positions, expandable to 36, ensuring efficient tool management for complex machining operations. The PBZ SC provides five-axis simultaneous machining with X-, Y-, and Z-axis travels of 2,756 ipm rapid traverse, enabling rapid and precise movement for intricate contouring and multi-sided machining. The table size measures 31.500 inches in length and 19.690 inches in width, supporting large and heavy workpieces. The machine does not include a support index or rotary table, focusing instead on direct, high-precision profile machining. With no pallet changer, the PBZ SC is optimized for dedicated, high-volume profile processing.
