The Hardinge T-65 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-precision CNC lathe designed for complex turning operations with a maximum turning diameter of 12.35" and a turning length of 22.47". It features a robust 10" main spindle chuck with a maximum swing of 26.5" and supports bar diameters up to 2.5". The machine is powered by a 35 HP main spindle motor with speeds up to 4,000 RPM, complemented by a 20 HP sub spindle rotating at up to 5,000 RPM with 1° index increments for enhanced workpiece positioning. The tool turret accommodates 12 tools for both turning and rotary operations, with rotary tools capable of 8,000 RPM at 10 HP. The system supports up to two simultaneous cutting tools and operates primarily on two axes, with optional third-axis capability. Axis travels include 7.76" on X-axis, 25" on Z-axis, and rapid traverse rates of 1,100 ipm on X, Y, and Z axes, ensuring efficient workpiece handling and swift tool movements. The machine incorporates a BMT 55 spindle taper and utilizes a Fanuc 31i control system, optimizing precision and repeatability for demanding industries such as aerospace, automotive, and medical device manufacturing.
