The Heckert HEC 500 D Flexible Horizontal Machining Center is a 4-axis CNC machine optimized for high-performance metal machining. It features a horizontal spindle with an HSK A 63 taper, delivering up to 10,000 rpm standard, with an optional increase to 12,000 rpm. The spindle is powered by a 44 HP motor (with a 67 HP option) designed for both heavy and light-duty cuts. The worktable measures 19.69" by 24.8" and accommodates up to 1,320 lbs, supported by a standard index table with an optional rotary table for enhanced part positioning flexibility. The machine offers a chain automatic tool changer with a capacity of 60 tools, extendable up to 320 tools, achieving an efficient tool change chip time of 3 seconds. The machining center’s axes travel extensively: X and Y axes each move 29.52” with a maximum rapid traverse of 2,554 ipm, while the Z axis travels 28.54” at the same rapid rate. It includes a standard dual-pallet changer system allowing simultaneous loading and machining, optimizing production throughput. The structure promotes thermal stability for precision and long-term accuracy, meeting IT 5 class standards.
