A+Technical Description
This vertical machining center features a large worktable measuring 86" x 34", capable of supporting workpieces up to 5,000 lbs, offering substantial capacity for heavy-duty machining tasks. The spindle is vertically oriented with a CAT 40 / BIG-PLUSĀ® dual contact taper system (also optionally available in BT 40), allowing enhanced tool holder rigidity and precision by simultaneously contacting the spindle taper and face, significantly improving machining accuracy, surface finish, and tool life. The spindle operates at speeds up to 12,000 RPM with a 24 HP motor rated for 30 minutes, delivering powerful and high-speed cutting performance. Tooling is managed via a 40-position automatic tool changer (ATC) with an option to expand up to 96 tools for increased operational flexibility. The machine operates on three axes (X, Y, Z), each with a travel capacity of 30" x 34" x 30" respectively, and supports maximum feed rates and rapid traverses of 530 ipm on all axes, enabling efficient and precise machining cycles. Optional configurations include support index tables and rotary tables to further expand workholding and multi-axis machining capabilities. The ATC swing arm tooling system facilitates rapid tool changes for improved productivity. This machine is designed for demanding industrial applications requiring a robust, rigid, and accurate machining platform suitable for processing large and heavy components with advanced spindle technology to maximize precision and tool life.
