Technical Description

The Hurco VC500i Vertical Machining Center is a high-performance 5-axis cantilever machining center engineered for precision and versatility in demanding production environments. Featuring a robust solid one-piece cast iron frame optimized with static and dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the VC500i delivers exceptional rigidity and stability for consistent accuracy. The machine offers generous travel distances of 20.5 inches (X), 17.7 inches (Y), and 15.8 inches (Z), enabling the efficient machining of a wide range of part sizes. Its 5-axis B-axis trunnion configuration provides a full ±110° tilt and 360° continuous rotary motion, allowing for complex geometries and superior undercutting capability while minimizing tool interference and enabling the use of standard-length tooling. The spindle operates at up to 12,000 RPM with a CAT40 taper, delivering high-speed performance and compatibility with a broad range of cutting tools. Powered by a 13 kW (17.4 hp) spindle motor, the VC500i ensures strong torque and reliable cutting power for diverse materials. The machine is equipped with a 30-station automatic tool changer for rapid tool exchange and increased productivity. Advanced control technology, including the Hurco WinMax® software and UltiMotion® motion system, supports multiple programming methods and features 4GB RAM, a 128GB solid-state drive, and 10,000 block look-ahead for smooth, efficient operation. The VC500i is designed for high-precision, high-efficiency machining in industries such as aerospace, medical, and mold and die.
