Technical Description
The Hyundai WIA HS4000 (I) is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for precision and heavy-duty manufacturing applications. It features a 15.8" x 15.8" standard table capable of supporting workpieces up to 1,102 lbs, with optional rotary table support. The machine employs a horizontal spindle with a Big Plus #40 taper (optional HSK-A63), delivering up to 15,000 RPM and a 33.5 HP motor (20.1 HP optional), suitable for demanding cutting conditions. It uses an automatic tool changer (ATC) holding 80 tools, with a rapid tool change time of 1.2 seconds (3.6 seconds chip-to-chip), enhancing productivity and minimizing downtime. The HS4000 is configured with 3 axes (X: 24.4", Y: 22.1", Z: 25.6"), each capable of a rapid traverse rate of 2,362 ipm and a max feed rate of 1,969 ipm, offering high-speed and precise positioning. A 4-axis option is available, with a 360° B-axis rotation. The machine’s rigid 'T' bed construction and double-wall column design reduce vibration and thermal distortion, ensuring consistent accuracy. Optional pallet changers improve automation capabilities. The system integrates advanced CNC controls, supporting efficient machining of various metals including aluminum, steel, and titanium in industries such as automotive and aerospace. Its robust build, spindle cooling, and advanced tool management result in high-speed, heavy-load milling and drilling with extended tool life and operational stability. This machining center balances speed, precision, and load capacity, making it ideal for complex, high-volume manufacturing environments.
