A+Technical Description
The Hyundai WIA HS5000M Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance CNC machine designed for demanding industrial applications requiring precision and speed. It features a robust 49.6 HP (37 kW) spindle motor capable of reaching a maximum spindle speed of 15,000 RPM, utilizing a Big Plus Dual Contact Taper (BCV #40) for enhanced spindle rigidity and precision. The machine’s triple-axis rapid traverse rate is 2,362 IPM (60 m/min), facilitating fast positioning and reduced cycle times. It incorporates a 12-position linear pallet system with each pallet measuring 500 x 500 mm, supporting a high-capacity tool magazine of up to 250 tools. The HS5000M’s structural design includes an integral, step and inverse T-shape Meehanite cast iron bed to maximize rigidity and vibration absorption during heavy cutting operations. Double pre-tensioned ball screws on all axes, coupled with large linear roller guideways, ensure accurate and smooth motion control, enhancing machining precision. Spindle cooling is maintained by an oil jacket, and the system supports 1,000 PSI through-spindle coolant for effective chip evacuation and tool cooling. Controlled by the advanced Fanuc 31i-B CNC system, the machine supports rigid tapping, user-definable custom macro programming, and includes safety features like program/data protection keys, telescopic way covers, and a splash guard enclosure. Additional features such as a chip conveyor with a 47-inch discharge height and dual screw-type conveyors enhance chip management for longer unattended operation. The HS5000M is optimized for continuous, mass-production machining with high-speed, stable and precise operation.
