A+Technical Description
The HYUNDAI WIA L250Y/SY is a advanced CNC multitasking turning center featuring a true cross-type Y-axis design that eliminates interpolation requirements for superior positional accuracy. The machine accommodates workpieces up to 12.2" diameter with a 24.4" maximum turning length, supported by a 10" chuck capable of holding bar stock up to 3.0" diameter. The primary spindle delivers 30 HP at 3,500 RPM, while the optional sub-spindle operates at 6,000 RPM with 10 HP, enabling simultaneous machining of both part ends in a single setup. The integrated live tooling system provides 4,000 RPM at 7.4 HP with ER32 collet compatibility for secondary milling and drilling operations. The machine operates on Fanuc 32i-A CNC control (31i-A optional) with programmable 4 to 5-axis configurations depending on specification level. The turret tool changer accommodates up to 12 turning and 12 rotary tools, executing one simultaneous cutting operation. XY rapid traverses achieve 787 IPM across 9.1" and 4.3" travels respectively, while Z-axis travel spans 26.6" at identical rapid speed. Angular ball bearings provide high rigidity and minimal thermal emission. This configuration makes the L250Y/SY ideal for complex turning-milling applications requiring high-precision feature machining offset from the spindle centerline.
