A+Technical Description
The INDEX TRAUB MS22-6 is a precision multi-spindle horizontal machining center engineered for high-productivity manufacturing of complex bar and chuck parts. This machine features six main spindles with maximum bar diameter capacity of 22mm (0.860"), each capable of 10,000 RPM and delivering 8.7kW power at 100% duty cycle, with optional power ratings up to 15kW at reduced duty cycles. The system accommodates up to two swiveling synchronous spindles operating at identical speeds and power outputs, enabling rear-end machining capabilities. The machine is equipped with up to eleven configurable tool carriers with full XYZ axis movement, providing 62mm X-axis travel, ±12mm Y-axis travel, and 85mm Z-axis travel on the main tool carrier. An optional back-boring slide provides additional 120mm Z-axis travel for extended rear-end operations with up to six tools, three of which can be live tools. The 28-axis standard configuration expands to 62 optional axes, enabling simultaneous multi-axis operations across turning, drilling, reaming, milling, thread rolling, and chamfering functions. Control is managed by the iXpanel i4.0-ready system with Siemens S840D SL CNC and 18.5-inch multi-touch interface. The machine weighs approximately 5,700kg in base configuration and consumes 62kW connected power, making it suitable for precision production of parts ranging 5-22mm diameter with turning lengths up to 200mm.
