The Kent CNC KMH-400 Horizontal Machining Center features a 15.75" x 15.75" (400mm x 400mm) work table designed for heavy-duty machining with a maximum workpiece load capacity of approximately 882 lbs (400 kg). It employs a robust horizontal spindle with a BT-40 taper, capable of speeds up to 10,000 RPM, driven by a high-performance Fanuc servo motor. The machine operates on a 3-axis configuration (X, Y, Z) with travels of 24.8" on each axis, supported by roller-type linear guideways for enhanced rigidity and precision. The rapid traverse rate for all axes is up to 1417 in/min (36 m/min), with optional faster rates available. The KMH-400 includes a 40-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) with options to expand tool capacity up to 90, facilitating versatile and continuous operations. Construction incorporates a heavy-duty integrated table and box-type structure with “V” rib reinforcements to ensure long-term stability and resistance to deformation under load. Structural components are made from tempered, high-quality cast iron, analyzed through finite element methods to optimize rigidity and vibration dampening. The machine is equipped with a standard pallet changer to maximize throughput in production settings. The table features T-slots (24-M10 x p1.5 x 20mm) for secure workholding.
