The LeBlond 24" Regal Gap Bed Manual Lathe is a precision floor-mounted engine lathe designed for heavy-duty production and tool room applications. This machine features a maximum swing of 26.25 inches over the bed ways, with an extended 52.5-inch swing capacity through the removable gap section, accommodating larger workpieces. The 116-inch distance between centers, combined with the 2.125-inch spindle bore and L2 spindle nose, provides substantial turning capacity for extended workpieces. The lathe is powered by a 15 HP motor operating at 1,080 RPM maximum with 12 selectable spindle speeds ranging from 27 to 1,080 RPM, enabling versatile machining operations. The carriage incorporates 48 variable feeds (0.0036 to 0.205 IPR) and 48 thread pitches (2 to 112 TPI) for precision threading and surfacing work. Standard equipment includes a taper attachment for conical turning, 7-inch roller steady rest, follower rest, and quick-change tool post for efficient tool changes. The tailstock features a #5 Morse taper with 3.125-inch quill diameter and 8-inch travel. The machine is equipped with a 38-inch face plate, removable chip pan with coolant circulation system, and thread-chasing dial for accurate threading operations. Comprehensive graduated dials on the cross slide and compound rest enable precise depth-of-cut control.
