The Makino A61NX PRO 6 is a high-performance 3-axis horizontal machining center with optional 4-axis capability designed for precision and high-volume production. It features a robust horizontal CAT #40 spindle with a standard speed of 14,000 RPM, upgradeable to 20,000 RPM, delivering 303 Nm of torque to support a wide range of metals and complex parts. The machine boasts a table size of 19.7" x 19.7" supporting workpieces up to 1,100 lbs, with optional rotary table support available. It offers extensive travels of 28.7" (X), 25.6" (Y, optional 28.7"), and 31.5" (Z), combined with rapid traverse rates of 2,362 inches per minute and cutting feed rates up to 1,968 ipm, enabling fast and accurate machining cycles.
The tool handling system includes a 60-position automatic tool changer (ATC) with an optional expansion up to 313 tools, featuring rapid tool change times of 0.9 seconds (tool-to-tool) and 2.5 seconds (chip-to-chip), enhancing throughput. Dual pallets with an integrated pallet changer allow for continuous operation and quick workpiece swaps. The machine incorporates advanced technologies such as inertia active control for optimal acceleration, a vision-type broken tool sensor, and high-pressure through-spindle coolant (up to 300 psi) for efficient chip evacuation and cooling.
Control is managed via the Makino Professional 6 CNC, offering user-friendly programming, advanced tool management, and precise motion control.
