The MAZAK SLANT TURN 500M is a heavy-duty, high-torque horizontal machining center designed for large-diameter, long-length turning applications. It features a main spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 35.83 inches, a maximum turning length of 81.69 inches, and an 18-inch diameter chuck. The spindle offers a maximum speed of 1,600 RPM and delivers 60 HP, optimized for powerful cutting performance. The machine includes a 12-position turret tool carrier supporting up to 12 turning tools, capable of single simultaneous cutting, with rotary tool spindle speed up to 4,000 RPM for milling and drilling operations. Its 2-axis configuration allows X-axis travel of 18.31 inches and Z-axis travel of 85.24 inches, with optional 3-axis capabilities available. The spindle’s max swing is 40.94 inches, enabling machining of large workpieces. Designed for heavy-duty industrial applications such as oilfield pipe, turbine components, and aerospace parts, it includes a geared headstock for high torque at varying speeds, a rotary tool turret for secondary operations, and a CNC-driven tailstock for workpiece support.
