Technical Description
The Milltronics VM2515 is a robust 3-axis vertical machining center featuring 25" x 15" x 20" travel capacities (X, Y, Z) and a precision-ground 30" x 16" table capable of supporting up to 3,140 lbs at full speed. It is equipped with a powerful 15-horsepower, 10,000 RPM spindle with BIG-PLUS® ISO 40 dual contact taper, delivering high rigidity and accuracy for demanding milling operations. The machine includes a 20-pocket double-arm automatic tool changer (ATC) compatible with CT40 tooling, supporting tools up to 3.15" diameter and 9.45" length, and max tool weight of 15.4 lbs.
Constructed with a heavily ribbed, one-piece fine-grain cast iron casting and outfitted with 30/35 mm linear way technology, the VM2515 ensures structural stability and minimal thermal distortion. Precision ground ballscrews, supported at both ends, and telescopic metal way covers improve positioning accuracy and protect critical components. The machine supports rapid traverse rates up to 945 IPM and includes high-torque AC digital servo drives and a closed-loop vector spindle drive system for precise motion control.
Additional standard features include a fully enclosed machine guard with side doors, an automatic positive displacement lubrication system, spindle air purge, feedrate and spindle speed overrides, programmable coolant flood system, spindle load meter, and user-friendly CNC control with a 15" color LCD touchscreen. The machine weighs 6,200 lbs and stands approximately 101 inches tall, requiring a 208-240V three-phase power supply with a 15 KVA rating. Optional add-ons include coolant-through-spindle systems, tool and part probes, 4th and 5th axis options, and various chip removal systems, enhancing versatility and productivity in diverse machining environments.
