A+Technical Description
The Mitsubishi FA-20V Wire EDM machine is a high-precision, multi-axis electrical discharge machining system designed for fine machining of complex parts. It features X, Y, and Z travels of 19.69", 13.77", and 17.77" respectively, with additional U and V axes travels of ±1.25" for taper cutting and compensation of wire wear. The machine supports maximum workpiece dimensions of 41.34" x 31.50" x 11.61" and can handle workpieces weighing up to 3,300 lbs. Equipped with a 64-bit multi-tasking CNC control, it offers advanced functions including Anti-Electrolysis (AE3-HS) power supply to prevent workpiece corrosion, a 10 kg wire spool, and automatic wire feed in diameters of 0.004" and 0.006". The machine uses AC servo drives and a square table design, with linear glass scales providing precise position feedback. Submerged machining is enabled by a large 195-gallon tank capacity and an integrated chiller for thermal stability. Additional features include a Power Master function for optimal power delivery, dual discharge current systems for effective machining, and a wire processing device to handle wire tension and conditioning. The TFT graphic display permits clear visualization and program input. With RAM storage of 1 megabyte and support for M codes, the FA-20V is suitable for fine, high-accuracy manufacturing, capable of taper cutting up to 15 degrees and ensuring wall straightness of 3 microns or less, making it suitable for demanding applications in tool and die, mold making, and precision components.
