A+Technical Description
The Mitsui Seiki HU63A-5X is a precision 5-axis horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty and complex machining tasks. It features a rigid horizontal spindle with a #50 taper, optionally upgradeable to HSK100, capable of speeds up to 4,500 RPM standard, with an optional increase to 6,000 RPM. The spindle delivers 25 HP continuous power (30-minute rating), ensuring powerful cutting performance for a broad range of materials. The worktable measures 24.8" x 24.8" and supports workpieces up to 1,760 lbs, accommodating large and heavy parts. The machine’s travel envelope is substantial, with 35.43" travel along the X, Y, and Z axes, and rotary axes A and B offering 100° and full 360° rotation, respectively, enabling complex multi-axis machining operations. Equipped with an automatic tool changer (ATC) holding 60 tools as standard, the tool magazine can be optionally expanded to 540 tools for enhanced productivity and reduced downtime. Tool change times are optimized at 2 seconds (tool-to-tool) and 12 seconds (chip-to-chip). The system supports optional pallet changers, supporting 2 pallets standard and up to 10 pallets optionally, facilitating continuous production workflows. The machine supports optional rotary tables and an additional U-axis, further expanding workholding flexibility and machining capabilities. Rapid traverse rates reach up to 473 inches per minute, ensuring efficient material removal and cycle times. Overall, the Mitsui Seiki HU63A-5X delivers a robust, versatile solution for high-precision horizontal machining of heavy and complex components.
