The Mitsui Vertex 550-5X is a precision 5-axis vertical machining center engineered for complex part production across aerospace, mold and die, and precision manufacturing industries. The machine features three linear axes with X-axis travel of 21.7", Y-axis travel of 23.6", and Z-axis travel of 17.7", with spindle-to-table distance ranging from 3.94" to 21.6". Two rotary axes provide advanced positioning capabilities: the A-axis tilt mechanism operates from +15 to -105 degrees, while the C-axis rotary table offers infinite 360-degree positioning with 0.001-degree resolution. The 15.75" diameter work surface accommodates workpieces up to 770 lbs maximum load. Linear rapid traverse rates reach 1,900 ipm on X and Y axes, with A-axis tilt and C-axis rotation speeds of 30 rpm and 50 rpm respectively. Cutting feed rates range from 0.004 to 1,900 ipm across linear axes, enabling both rough and precision finishing operations. The spindle operates up to 15,000 rpm (with optional 25,000 rpm configuration) with #40 taper tooling, delivering 48 ft-lbs torque.
