Technical Description

The Nakamura-Tome AS-200MY is a compact single-spindle, single-turret multitasking lathe from the AS-200 range, built with a Y-axis and milling as standard so that turned parts can be drilled, tapped and milled in the same setup. The Y-axis stroke is 82 mm (plus or minus 41 mm). Driven tools run at up to 6,000 rpm, and all driven-tool stations rotate simultaneously. The spindle motor is rated 15/11 kW and the spindle reaches 4,500 rpm. Chuck size is 8 inches, bar capacity is 65 mm (71 mm optional) and maximum turning length is 300 mm (11.81 in), with 427 mm between centers. The single drum turret is either a dodecagonal 12-station type, which allows up to 24 tools, or a 15-station type; every station can carry a milling tool, and maximum turning diameter is 340 mm with the 12-station turret or 280 mm with the 15-station turret. Rapid traverse is 24 m/min on X and 36 m/min on Z, and the C-axis rotates at 600 rpm. An optional tailstock has a 70 mm quill with 80 mm stroke and MT-4 taper. The machine is 1,850 mm high on a 1,650 x 1,600 mm floor space and weighs 3,200 kg.
