The Nakamura-Tome NTRX-300 is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for complex multitasking with full 5-axis capability. It features true opposing twin main spindles, each delivering 30 HP and a maximum speed of 4,500 RPM, supporting turning diameters up to 25.19" and turning lengths up to 45.27". Both spindles accommodate bar diameters up to 3.1" and use 10" diameter chucks, allowing versatile workpiece handling. The machine’s primary tool carrier is an automatic tool changer (ATC) capable of holding up to 120 tools, including turning and rotary tools, with the rotary spindle providing 25 HP and speeds up to 12,000 RPM for high-speed milling. The NTRX-300 employs 5 axes (X, Y, Z, plus rotary B and C axes) with travels of 27.55" (X), 9.84" (Y), and 43.3" (Z), enabling intricate multi-sided machining in a single setup. It incorporates a rigid vertical-column, horizontal-bed construction for optimal stability and thermal balance. The tool magazine is front-accessible for rapid tool changes, and the control uses Fanuc 31i-A5 CNC for advanced programming, collision prevention, and remote monitoring.
