Technical Description

The Okuma 2SP-250H is a two-spindle horizontal CNC lathe for high-volume production of chucked parts that pairs two parallel spindles, each with its own turret, and can be fitted with an optional gantry loader with part turnaround device so first and second operations can run in one machine. Chuck size is 8 inches (10 inches optional). Maximum turning diameter is 220 mm (8.66 in) and maximum turning length is 80 mm (3.15 in), with X and Z travels of 200 mm each and four controlled axes. Each spindle has a JIS A2-6 nose, a 62 mm (2.44 in) bore and 100 mm front bearing ID, and runs infinitely variable from 50 to 3,200 rpm (2,000 rpm optional). Each spindle motor is rated 18.5 kW for 30 minutes and 15 kW continuous. Each V12 turret holds 12 tools with 25 mm OD and 40 mm ID shanks, and rapid traverse is 24 m/min on X and Z. The optional three-axis servo loader carries up to 8 kg per hand and handles workpieces up to 250 mm diameter and 80 mm long, fed from a 16-pallet work stocker. Machine height is 3,098 mm, floor space is 2,300 x 2,325 mm and weight is 7,000 kg.
