Technical Description

The Okuma ES-L10 II is a 2-axis CNC lathe from Okuma's entry-level E-Series (later sold as the Heritage Series), built around a 10 inch hollow 3-jaw hydraulic chuck supplied with the machine. It uses Okuma-designed components and a box-way bed construction. Swing over the covers is 550 mm (21.65 in) and swing over the saddle is 520 mm (20.47 in). Maximum turning diameter is 310 mm (12.20 in) and maximum turning length is 500 mm (19.68 in), with 220 mm of X travel and 520 mm of Z travel. The JIS A2-8 spindle has an 80 mm (3.15 in) bore and 120 mm front bearing, and runs from 25 to 3,000 rpm in two infinitely variable ranges. The spindle motor is rated 15 kW (20 hp) for 30 minutes and 11 kW (15 hp) continuous, giving 420 lbf-ft of torque in the low range. A 12-station V12 hydraulic turret takes 1 inch square OD tools and 1.5 inch ID holders and indexes in 1.1 seconds. Rapid traverse is 20 m/min on X and 25 m/min on Z. The MT No. 5 tailstock has a 90 mm quill with 100 mm stroke. The control is the Okuma OSP-U10L with a 10.4 inch color display. Machine height is 1,793 mm.
