Technical Description
The Okuma GENOS L2000-e is a compact one-saddle horizontal CNC lathe in Okuma's GENOS L series, built around an integral (built-in motor) spindle for high-output, high-accuracy turning of steels and exotic alloys. The spindle has a JIS A2-6 nose, a 62 mm (2.44 in) bore and takes an 8 in chuck. It runs from 45 to 5,000 rpm with two automatic ranges and is rated 15/11 kW (20/15 hp, 20-minute/continuous). Swing over the bed is 450 mm and maximum turning diameter is 230 mm (9.06 in). Maximum work length is 290 mm or 500 mm depending on the chosen distance between centers, with 165 mm of X travel. Tooling is carried on a 12-station V12 turret that indexes in 0.3 seconds, and rapid traverse is 25 m/min on X and 30 m/min on Z. An NC-programmable tailstock is available on the longer-bed versions. The machine carries Okuma's Thermo Active Stabilizer (TAS-C) as standard to compensate thermal displacement, and it is controlled by the Okuma OSP-P300LA-e CNC with the OSP suite of apps. A separate coolant tank, easy spindle access and a chip-shedding bed layout simplify maintenance and long unattended runs.
