Technical Description
The Okuma GENOS L250II-e is a compact single-saddle, 2-axis CNC lathe, the smaller of the two GENOS L-e models. It is built on a one-piece cast iron base with a horizontal way system. Swing over the bed is 17.72 in (450 mm), swing on the carriage 13.78 in (350 mm) and swing over the cross slide 11.81 in (300 mm). Maximum turning diameter with the V12 turret is 8.66 in (220 mm). The machine is offered with 290 mm (11.42 in) and 500 mm (19.69 in) distances between centers, which set the maximum work length and a Z travel of 330 or 470 mm; X travel is 160 mm. The JIS A2-6 spindle runs from 45 to 4,500 rpm with infinitely variable speed and a 100 mm front bearing. The spindle motor is rated 11 kW (14.8 hp) for 10 minutes and 7.5 kW continuous, with 125 Nm of torque. The V12 turret holds 12 tools with 25 mm OD shanks and boring bars to 32 mm, indexing in 0.3 s. Rapid traverse is 25 m/min in X and 30 m/min in Z. A tailstock with MT4 (DBC 290) or MT5 (DBC 500) is available. The machine is 1,620 mm (63.78 in) high and weighs 2,800 to 3,300 kg depending on configuration. It is controlled by the Okuma OSP-P300LA-e with the OSP suite apps.
