Technical Description
The Okuma GENOS L300 is a horizontal CNC turning center in Okuma's GENOS L series, sized for 8 in to 10 in chuck work on medium shafts and flanges. It was built in several versions: the L300-E two-axis lathe, the L300-M with a milling turret and C-axis, the L300-MY with a Y-axis, and the L300-MW and L300-MYW with a second spindle for done-in-one machining. All versions share a maximum turning diameter of 300 mm (11.81 in) and a 12-station turret, which carries driven tools on the M, MY, MW and MYW versions. Turning length depends on the bed: standard beds give 450 to 520 mm, and a long-bed option extends it to 1,000 mm. The main spindle, spindle motor rating, top speed and chuck size differ between versions and production years, as does the CNC control, which moved from the Okuma OSP-P200L to the OSP-P300L series during the model's life. The machine uses Okuma's box slideways and thermally stable construction, and the later e-versions include Okuma's Thermo-Friendly features. The GENOS L300 was succeeded by the GENOS L3000-e.
