1996 OKUMA LB25 CNC LATHES
Specifications & Market Value

Technical Description
The Okuma LB25 is a 2-axis slant-bed CNC turning center built by Okuma Corporation of Japan. The machine uses a JIS A2-8 spindle nose with a 3.15 in spindle bore and a 10 in hydraulic chuck as typical workholding. The spindle is driven by an Okuma VAC motor with electrical coil switching that gives two automatic speed ranges, and it reaches a maximum of 3,500 rpm. Spindle output is 20 hp on the 30-minute rating. Swing over the bed is 24.41 in and swing over the cross-slide is 18.90 in; the maximum turning diameter is 14.17 in. Maximum turning length depends on the bed length ordered, with shorter and longer bed versions built (for example 25.59 in and 49.21 in). Tooling is carried on a 12-station V12 non-lift NC turret. X-axis travel is 7.28 in plus 1.77 in, and rapid traverse rates are 472 ipm on X and 591 ipm on Z. A hydraulic tailstock with an MT No. 5 quill was supplied on common configurations. Controls fitted over the production run were Okuma OSP series units, including the OSP5020L on earlier machines and the OSP7000L on later machines, both offering Okuma's Interactive Graphic Function (IGF) conversational programming. The LB25 was used for general chucker and shaft work in job shops and production plants.
