A+Technical Description
This Okuma lathe features a robust 3-inch hole thru spindle capable of reaching 4200 maximum RPM, making it suitable for high-speed turning operations and through-spindle coolant applications. The machine is equipped with the OSP-P300LA CNC control, a Windows-based, open-architecture platform powered by an Intel Dual Core Processor that provides PC-compatible Ethernet and multiple USB ports for seamless integration into modern manufacturing environments. The OSP-P300LA control enables manual data input (MDI) functionality, allowing operators to manually input G and M codes for specific machine operations, along with manual jogging capabilities. The control features independent rapid and feed overrides with spindle speed override control via dedicated knobs. Two units are available: one from 2019 and one from 2018, both equipped with production-ready auxiliary systems. A mist collector is integrated into the setup for efficient coolant management, while an LNS chip conveyor automates chip evacuation, reducing manual handling and improving shop floor efficiency. The combination of the proven OSP-P300 control platform—celebrating over 60 years of continuous improvement—with the auxiliary systems makes these machines suitable for production environments requiring reliable, repeatable turning operations. The shared database functionality of the OSP-P300 control reduces redundancy in CNC operations and shortens setup times, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
