Technical Description

The Okuma LH-50(N) is a heavy-duty, big-bore 2-axis CNC lathe built for large-diameter, long-length turning, produced from the late 1980s and sold for roughly two decades. Swing over bed is 43.31 in and swing over saddle is 26.97 in, with a distance between centers of 60 in. The spindle has an A2-15 nose with a 12.5 in bore (thru-hole), running 10-1,100 RPM on a 50 HP main drive motor. X-axis travel is 26.57 in and Z-axis travel is 60 in. The 8-station turret is paired with a heavy-duty, side-discharge chip conveyor. Standard chuck size is 24 in. The LH-50N variant uses a dual vertical turret, 2-axis configuration with an Okuma OSP-2200L or OSP-3000L control. Overall machine weight is approximately 34,000 lb. The LH50 is designed for heavy, large-part production turning such as large shafts, flanges, and housings that exceed the capacity of standard-size lathes.
