Technical Description
The Okuma MULTUS B750W is the largest machine in Okuma's MULTUS B multitasking lathe family, built by Okuma Corporation (Oguchi, Japan) for large-diameter, long-workpiece process-intensive machining. Per Okuma's current published specifications for the B750 platform, maximum turning diameter exceeds one meter at 41.34 in (1,050 mm), the main spindle nose is A2-11, spindle speed range is 11-2,000 rpm, and standard power is 50/40 hp (37/30 kW). Rapid traverse is 1,575 ipm (40 m/min) on X, Y and Z. The 'W' suffix on this 2010-built unit denotes the opposed (sub-)spindle configuration that is now standard on the current B750, allowing full use of a second spindle and long boring bar for process-intensive boring. The current platform ships with Okuma's OSP-P500S control and an industry-first Collision Avoidance System; this unit, built in 2010, almost certainly carries an earlier Okuma OSP-P200L control instead, so the control fitted is not confirmed here and left blank, along with overall dimensions, weight, chuck size and spindle bore, which Okuma does not publish.
