Technical Description

The OMV SHARK ONE Vertical Machining Center is a high-precision, compact milling machine featuring a fixed table and a moving column with a box-in-box structure that ensures exceptional rigidity and thermal stability. It has a longitudinal travel of approximately 196.85 inches (5,000 mm), cross travel of 41.34 inches (1,050 mm), and vertical travel of 47.24 inches (1,200 mm), making it suitable for machining complex parts within limited space environments. The machine employs generously dimensioned, ribbed steel alloy structures with symmetrical design for consistent performance unaffected by temperature changes and machining forces. The vertical and cross axes use precision ballscrews, while the longitudinal axis is driven by a double water-cooled motor-reducer or ballscrew system, enabling smooth, accurate motion control. It is powered by a 29.5 hp (29 kW) spindle motor, capable of spindle speeds up to 18,000 rpm, driving an HSK 63A spindle taper for tool interchangeability and precision. The machine design incorporates pre-tensioned linear guides, hydraulic vertical axis weight compensation, and a high dynamic feed rate range up to 30,000 mm/min, facilitating both finishing and roughing tasks. A CNC controller with digital drive control supports multi-axis machining with advanced functionality, including automatic tool changing with a 30-place magazine and probe-based measurement systems for efficient setup and quality assurance.
