Technical Description

The PAMA SPEEDRAM 3000/180 is a high-performance horizontal boring mill featuring a 180 mm (7.09 inches) boring spindle diameter and a maximum spindle speed of 2,500 RPM. The spindle is driven by a power unit capable of delivering up to approximately 66 to 108 kW (S1 rating) with a torque range of approximately 1175 to 3900 Nm, often utilizing a 2 or 3 gear range transmission. The machine boasts significant travel capacities, including an X-axis horizontal column travel up to 6,000 mm (236.22 inches) and a combined Z+W axis travel (ram and boring spindle) of up to 2,500 mm. The ram itself measures approximately 400x440 mm and is constructed from robust materials like nodular cast iron or forged 42CrMo4 steel. Designed for heavy-duty operations, it supports maximum workpiece weights up to 110,000 lbs (approximately 50,000 kg) and achieves rapid traverse rates up to 30,000 mm/min. Key features include Hydrostatic Sliding Spindle (HSS) technology and Automatic Thermal Compensation (ATC) for precise ram and spindle elongation control, ensuring high accuracy and chip removal rates up to 2,300 cm³/min during heavy cuts. The machine is operated via CNC control.
