Technical Description

The PAT MOONEY CNC 300A Vertical Machining Center is a high-precision 3-axis CNC machine designed for milling, drilling, and tapping primarily aluminum and other non-ferrous materials such as copper, brass, and plastics. It features an extended X-axis travel of 118 inches (3000 mm), ideal for large workpieces, alongside Y and Z-axis travels of 11.8 inches (300 mm) each. The machine is powered by a 7.5 hp spindle motor capable of speeds up to 20,000 RPM, providing high-speed machining capabilities for superior surface finishes and efficiency. The spindle is equipped with an ER32 tool holder, supporting tools up to 4 inches in length and 0.787 inches in diameter. The machine uses precision linear guideways and servo-driven ball screws on all axes, with the X-axis utilizing a gear/rack transmission for robust and smooth motion control.
