Technical Description
The ROTTLER MASCHINENBAU BFR 150 - 60 is a horizontal boring mill featuring a rotary table and operating under CNC control. The machine offers substantial travel capabilities with an X-Horizontal Travel of Column at 126 inches, a Y-Vertical Travel of Head at 98.4 inches, and a Z-Spindle Travel of 39.4 inches. It is characterized as a portal milling machine in a boring mill configuration. Key technical components include a robust RAM with a ground, stable cast iron design, hydrostatically guided in the vertical slide, and extendable by 1000 mm (W axis), driven by a digital AC servo drive via a preloaded ball screw. The drilling spindle, ranging from Ø 150 mm to Ø 200 mm and nitride-hardened, utilizes an SK 50 or SK 60 tool holder with a tool feed system and internal coolant supply. Powering the spindle is a drilling/milling spindle drive offering 60 kW to 100 kW, with infinitely variable speeds from 2.5-2500 min-1 and a cooling capacity of 9.3 kW. The vertical guide carriage (Y axis) is hydrostatically guided on the column and features hydraulic weight compensation along with automatically controlled sag compensation. The machine control system can be either HEIDENHAIN or SIEMENS.
