A+Technical Description
The Scharmann ALPHA 1000 TDM is a horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty, precise 5-axis machining operations. It features a large square table measuring 39.37” x 39.37”, with an optional extended size up to 49.21” x 49.21”, capable of supporting workpieces up to 11,000 lbs. The machine’s spindle runs horizontally with a standard SK 50 taper and an optional HSK 100A taper, achieving speeds up to 3,500 RPM powered by a 48 HP motor rated for 30 minutes. The standard configuration includes a U axis for enhanced machining flexibility. Tooling is managed via an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard capacity of 40 tools, which can be optionally expanded to 400 tools. Tool exchange time is instantaneous (0.00 sec). Pallet handling is integrated with a standard 2-pallet system, expandable to 4 pallets for efficient part loading and unloading. Axis travels include 63” (optional 79”) on X, 49” (optional 61”) on Y, and 51” (optional 63”) on Z, all with maximum feed and rapid traverse rates of 1,969 ipm. Rotary axes A and B provide 190° and 360° continuous rotation, respectively, supporting complex multi-axis machining. Optional 6-axis capability is available. The ALPHA 1000 TDM is well suited for machining large, heavy workpieces requiring high precision and throughput, offering robust construction and advanced automation features for demanding manufacturing environments.
