The Scharmann ALPHA 1000M 5-axis horizontal machining center is a high-performance CNC machine designed for complex, heavy-duty machining tasks. It features a robust table/work support system with a standard table size of 39.37 x 39.37 inches, expandable to 49.21 x 49.21 inches, capable of supporting workpieces up to 11,000 lbs. The machine is equipped with a standard support rotary table and optional support index table for enhanced flexibility. The horizontal spindle offers an SK 50 taper, with an HSK 100A option, and delivers a top speed of 6,000 RPM (up to 10,000 RPM with the optional spindle), powered by a 48 HP motor (60 HP optional). Tooling is managed by an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard capacity of 40 tools, expandable to 400, and a standard pallet changer with two pallets (expandable to four) for efficient production. The machine provides five-axis simultaneous machining with X, Y, and Z axis travels of 63 inches (expandable to 79 inches), Y and Z axis travels of 63 inches (expandable to 79 inches), and Z axis travel of 51 inches (expandable to 79 inches), all with a maximum feed rate and rapid traverse of 1,575 ipm. The A-axis offers 190° rotation, and the B-axis provides full 360° rotation, enabling versatile and precise machining of complex geometries.
