The Scharmann ALPHA 800 TDM is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for precision and heavy-duty manufacturing. It features a robust 31.5" x 31.5" (optional 39.37" x 39.37") worktable capable of supporting workpieces up to 5,500 lbs, facilitating large and heavy component machining. The machine operates with a horizontal spindle equipped with an SK 50 taper, with an option for HSK 100A, spinning at speeds up to 3,500 RPM driven by a powerful 48 HP (30-minute rating) motor. It includes an automatic tool changer (ATC) carrying 40 tools standard, expandable to 400, optimizing production flexibility and efficiency. The machining center provides 5-axis capability (with an optional 6th axis) including a standard U-axis, allowing for complex geometries and precision contouring. Axes travels are substantial, with 51" travel on the X and Z axes and 39" on the Y-axis (extendable to 49"), all supporting rapid and max feed rates of 1,969 ipm for high-speed operations. The machine integrates a two-pallet automatic pallet changer with an optional four-pallet system, enhancing workflow automation and reducing downtime during load/unload cycles.
