Technical Description

The Schiess HORIMASTER 3-F Horizontal Machining Center is a heavy-duty CNC machine designed for large workpieces with a maximum weight capacity of 88,000 lbs. It features a robust horizontal spindle with a CAT 50 taper, offering standard top speeds of 2,000 RPM and an optional upgrade to 4,000 RPM, driven by a 94 HP motor rated for 30-minute operation. The machine supports three primary axes (X, Y, Z) with travel capacities of 98.43" (opt. 196.85") for X and Y axes, and 49.21" (opt. 62.99") for the Z axis, achieving rapid traverse rates up to 984 IPM. An optional fourth U axis is available for enhanced flexibility. The machining table measures 108.27" square, extendable to 127.95" square as an option, with auxiliary support tables and rotary tables both available as optional attachments. Tooling is managed via an automatic tool changer (ATC) initially equipped with a single tool holder, expandable up to 160 tools, with a tool change time of 30 seconds and chip-to-chip time of 45 seconds. A pallet changer system supporting two pallets is optional to increase throughput.
