A+Technical Description
The Shibaura Machine Co. NX 76 Horizontal Machining Center is a robust 3-axis horizontal CNC machining center designed for precision and heavy-duty machining applications. It features a rigid horizontal spindle with a #50 taper (option for #40 taper) capable of up to 8,000 RPM (optionally 10,000 RPM) and a powerful 50 HP motor rated for 30-minute intervals (with a 20 HP option), enabling efficient material removal and high-performance cutting. The machine’s table measures 24.8" x 29.5", supporting workpieces up to 2,860 lbs, with an optional smaller table size of 19.7" x 24.8". The work travel spans 33.4" in X, 29.9" in Y, and 30.7" in Z axes, each with rapid traverse and max feed rates of 1,181 ipm, allowing for fast and precise movements. The ATC tool changer carries 38 tools standard with an option to handle up to 180 tools, delivering flexibility for complex machining operations. A pallet changer is available as an option to enhance productivity in production environments. The machine’s horizontal spindle quill design provides extended reach and rigidity, suitable for complex milling and boring tasks while maintaining geometric precision and positional accuracy. The NX 76 supports high rigidity, thermal stability, and efficient chip evacuation, making it ideal for machining large and heavy components in automotive, aerospace, and general engineering industries. Its combination of power, speed, tool capacity, and precision makes it a versatile solution for demanding horizontal machining tasks.
