Technical Description

The SIRMU VTMP Vertical Machining Center is a robust CNC vertical turret lathe designed for heavy-duty and precision machining across energy, aeronautics, steel, oil, and general mechanical sectors. It supports a maximum main spindle turning diameter of 314 inches and a turning length of 244 inches, accommodating very large workpieces with a substantial 118-inch spindle chuck diameter. The primary spindle operates at a maximum speed of 50 RPM with 80 HP power, while the rotary tool delivers 68 HP at up to 3,000 RPM. The machine features a 16-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) with a single simultaneous cutting tool capability, extendable to dual-tool operation optionally. Operating with two axes, it offers a generous X-axis travel of 59 inches, Y-axis travel of 157 inches, and Z-axis travel of 51 inches, enabling versatile and complex machining operations. The VTMP model delivers high feed rates up to 157 inches per minute with rapid traverse speeds reaching 472 inches per minute, optimizing machining efficiency. Its structural design includes a solid closed frame and benefits from hydrostatic guideways, providing excellent static bending and torsional stiffness and ensuring high positional accuracy and vibration damping. Direct linear measuring scales and thermal spindle control enhance precision and repeatability. Equipped with modular design features and in-process measuring options, the VTMP excels in handling large, complex components such as turbine blades, impellers, and heavy industrial parts.
