Technical Description
The Spinner TTC 300-52 SMMCY is a German-built twin-opposed-spindle, twin-turret CNC turning center for complete front and back machining of bar and chucked parts. The -52 version takes bar up to 52 mm (2.05 in) through the main spindle. The main spindle is a direct-drive motor spindle rated 19 kW (25.5 hp) with a maximum speed of 5,000 rpm; the opposed sub-spindle is rated 8 kW at up to 7,000 rpm and moves on a slide to take parts over from the main spindle. Two 12-station turrets carry driven tools in all stations at up to 6,000 rpm, and the upper turret has a Y-axis stroke of plus or minus 40 mm. Maximum turning diameter is 250 mm (9.84 in) and maximum turning length is 400 mm (15.75 in), with a 400 mm swing. Axis travels are X1 180 mm, X2 110 mm and Z 450 mm. The machine was supplied with either a Siemens 840D sl or a FANUC 31i control. The designation reflects the configuration: TTC twin-turret center, 300 size class, 52 mm bar, SMMCY sub-spindle with driven tools on both turrets and a C- and Y-axis. It is used for turn-mill work on complex precision parts in medium and high volumes.
