The STAR SR-16/20R is a versatile horizontal machining center designed for precision turning and milling operations on small to medium-sized components. This seven-axis machine features dual main spindles and a sub-spindle, enabling simultaneous multi-axis machining capabilities. Each main spindle operates at 12,000 RPM with 5.00 HP output, while the sub-spindle delivers 8,000 RPM at 2.90 HP, accommodating workpieces with a maximum turning diameter of 0.790" and length of 8.000". The primary tool carrier accommodates six turning and six rotary tools, with a secondary slide carrier holding four additional tools. The machine incorporates a rotary tool station rated at 1.00 HP and 800 RPM, enabling complex secondary operations. With three simultaneous cutting tools capability, the SR-16/20R supports comprehensive mill/drill functions both on-center and off-center, along with C-axis and Y-axis secondary machining. Standard axis travel includes 0.630" (X), 3.500" (Y), and 8.000" (Z), with optional X-axis extension to 0.790".
