It features a main spindle with a maximum turning diameter and swing of 1.250", capable of handling bar stock up to 1.250" in diameter, and a maximum turning length of 12.200". The main spindle delivers up to 10 HP and achieves speeds of 7,000 RPM, ensuring efficient material removal and fine surface finishes. The machine is equipped with a slide-type primary tool carrier supporting up to 4 turning tools and 3 rotary tools, each with a maximum of 1 HP and 6,000 RPM, enabling versatile milling and drilling operations. A secondary turret tool carrier provides up to 8 additional tool stations, allowing for multi-operation setups. The system supports up to 2 simultaneous cutting tools, maximizing productivity. Off-center secondary mill/drill functions are standard, and the machine includes a Y-axis for enhanced contouring capability. The STAR SV-32J operates on a 5-axis platform, with X-axis travel of 0.750", Y-axis travel of 0.750", and Z-axis travel of 11.810" (optionally 12.210").
