A+Technical Description
The Starrag ECOSPEED F HT 2 is a high-speed horizontal machining center engineered for precision cutting of small to medium-sized workpieces with exceptional productivity. This 5-axis simultaneous CNC machine delivers robust performance with a 120 kW spindle capable of running continuously at 30,000 RPM in S1 mode, generating 160.9 hp of cutting power. The machine features generous work envelope dimensions with X and Y-axis travel of 62.992 inches (1,599.9 mm) each and Z-axis travel of 26.378 inches (670.05 mm), accommodating mid-sized components effectively. The 1,000 x 1,000 mm square pallet system enables flexible workpiece positioning and automation integration. The 129-position automatic tool changer with HSK A63/80 taper provides rapid tool changes from chain or rack magazines, minimizing production interruptions. At the heart of the system lies the Sprint Z3 parallel kinematic machining head, which enables outstanding dynamics and precision through three parallel linear axis drives mounted radially in the barrel-shaped headstock. This innovative kinematic design allows synchronized motion across Z-axes for straight-line movement, differential motion for A/B-axis tilting, and complex 3D toolpath generation within a ±45-degree spherical cone. The machine delivers excellent surface quality and dimensional accuracy, eliminating manual rework typically required with conventional centers, thereby increasing efficiency and process reliability for batch production from single units through bulk manufacturing applications.
