Technical Description

The Fagor 8055 TC CNC control is a robust, versatile lathe control system designed for both production runs and single-part machining. This 2-3 axis control system features a fully alpha-numeric keyboard and supports multiple operating modes including execution, single block, MDI/teach-in, jog/manual, and conversational modes. The control accommodates up to 999,999 main programs with 15 nesting levels and supports program editing in ISO, high-level, profile editor, and interactive editor formats. Communications capabilities include RS-232 serial ports (115,200 baud), USB ports for easy program uploading, and optional Ethernet with TCP-IP protocol. The system incorporates 8 feedback ports, high-speed integrated PLC with 16 inputs and 8 outputs, and supports digital servo or conventional analog drive communication. The control provides comprehensive machining functionality with canned cycles for turning, facing, and taper turning at two levels each. Feedrate ranges from 0.00001 to 7900 inches/minute, with support for both linear and circular interpolation. Advanced features include spindle orientation (M19), tangential control for maintaining cutting angles, RTCP function for complex geometries, and automatic tool calibration with visual guidance.
