The Takisawa Taiwan LS-1100 is a large-swing horizontal turning center engineered for heavy-duty machining applications. This machine features a maximum turning diameter of 35.43 inches and a substantial turning length of 83.22 inches, accommodating large workpieces with bar stock diameters up to 10 inches. The main spindle incorporates a 24-inch chuck diameter and achieves a 44.09-inch maximum swing, enabling superior workpiece capacity and flexibility. Operating at 900 RPM, the spindle delivers 100 HP continuous power with an optional 133 HP upgrade, providing exceptional cutting torque essential for demanding operations. The machine utilizes a precision ground gearbox system that generates high cutting torque at low speeds while maintaining accurate surface finishes. Its in-house manufactured heavy-duty turret measures 31.5 inches in diameter with 7.8-inch thickness, featuring rapid positioning capabilities and high-accuracy curvic coupling. The machine is equipped with two axes of CNC control: the X-axis provides 20.6 inches of travel with rapid traverse rates of 472 ipm, while the Z-axis offers 86.61 inches of travel (expandable to 179 inches) at equivalent feed rates. The turret accommodates 10 turning tools with single-point simultaneous cutting capability.
