Technical Description

The Takumi USA SL300 is a CNC turning center engineered for heavy and interrupted cutting operations with superior part finishes. This horizontal spindle lathe features a 12-inch chuck diameter with maximum turning capacity of 17.710 inches in diameter and 25.590 inches in length, accommodating a 3.58-inch bar capacity. The machine is powered by a robust 25 horsepower main spindle motor capable of reaching 3,000 RPM, enabling efficient material removal rates for demanding applications. The SL300 utilizes a true 45-degree slant bed design with heavily ribbed casting construction that prevents twisting and deformation, while wide rectangular box-way guideways provide long-term rigidity and accuracy. All axes feature induction-hardened, precision-ground guideways with hand-scraped Turcite B surfaces for enhanced stability. The machine incorporates brushless Fanuc AC servos and dual-nut pre-loaded ballscrews on both X and Z axes. It delivers rapid traverse speeds of 787 ipm across all three axes, ensuring quick positioning and reduced cycle times. The SL300 is controlled by a Fanuc Oi-TF CNC system, the industry's most popular control platform, delivering highest reliability and best mean time between failures. A bi-directional hydraulic turret and hydraulic tailstock mounted on box ways provide precision tooling capability. This versatile turning center is ideal for aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing applications requiring precision and reliability in high-production environments.
