A+Technical Description
The Tornos SA CU 1007 is a compact, ultra-precise vertical machining center optimized for complex microtechnical component production in industries such as watchmaking, jewelry, medical, and electronics. It features a 5.0" x 5.0" table and a 3-axis standard configuration with an option for up to 4 axes. The machine employs a vertical spindle with an HSK-A32 taper (optional HSK-E25) capable of speeds up to 30,000 RPM, with an optional high-frequency spindle up to 40,000 RPM, delivering 4.0 HP (30-minute rating). The tool changer system holds 12 tools standard, expandable to 48 tools, supporting a range of cutting operations with high flexibility and efficiency. Travel ranges include 11.02" on X-axis, 4.72" on Y-axis, and 8.71" on Z-axis, providing precise machining within a small footprint of only 2.5 m². Feed rates reach up to 16 m/min rapid traverse, enabled by brushless AC servo motors driving pre-stressed rails and ball screws to ensure rigidity and stability. The machine’s design incorporates a self-supporting cast iron frame for excellent vibration damping and surface finish quality. Modular and scalable, the CU 1007 supports automation integration, including robotic loading/unloading and multi-center configurations, allowing production flexibility and increased throughput. CNC control with Fanuc systems ensures ease of programming and precise incremental positioning down to 0.1 µm. Optional features include enhanced spindle speed, cooling units, and multi-axis capabilities, making the CU 1007 a versatile solution for high-precision, small-footprint manufacturing environments.
