A+Technical Description
The Toyoda FV1165 is a high-rigidity vertical machining center designed for demanding industrial applications, featuring a 51.25" x 25.6" table and extensive travels of 43.3" (X), 25.6" (Y), and 23.6" (Z). It is wired for both 4th and 5th axis rotary tables, enhancing multi-axis machining flexibility. The machine incorporates a CAT 40 Big Plus spindle taper, driven by a 25 HP motor delivering speeds up to 8,000 RPM, utilizing the BIG-PLUS dual contact spindle system for improved tool and spindle engagement, which enhances rigidity, accuracy, and surface finish by simultaneous contact at the spindle taper and face. This system reduces deflection and improves tool life, ATC repeatability, and machining precision. Rapid traverse rates reach 1181 IPM on X/Y axes and 945 IPM on Z. The machine is equipped with a 40-tool side-mount tool magazine and features a Fanuc Oi-MF control with rigid tapping capabilities. Coolant options include programmable, high-pressure, and through-spindle coolant systems, supporting a wide range of machining processes. Additional features include a Renishaw OMP40-2 probing kit for automated setup and inspection, a tool presetter, and a chip conveyor for efficient chip management. The FV1165’s box-slide construction with Meehanite cast iron base and four-slide Y-axis ensures exceptional rigidity and long-term accuracy. Table load capacity is 2,425 lbs with spindle nose-to-table clearance adjustable from 4.9" to 28.5". This versatile machine balances heavy-duty capability with precision, enabling continuous, high-throughput machining of diverse workpieces.
